Some embraced this revolution, even some of the poets, while others rejected it.Those like me who came to this book looking for a detailed account of Ada and her association with Babbage and his Difference Engine will come away disappointed. It's when Clark starts delving into the implications of the "human-machine symbiosis" that he becomes a little shortsighted and unconvincing.. Did you know that the first surgeon would have been hung if his patient had died when he was removing a huge tumor? Yes! The towns people were fastening a noose on a tree while he was inside performing surgery to remove a large abdominal tumor from a woman. But subtly so. Many photos and some books are available on the subject but this lets you know what it's like today. Although initially it seemed like a failure because the icing was all clumpy, I pressed on knowing that Jen McCann had timetested all the recipes, and the result was great icing! We even colored it pink for valentines day, and there was so much dough that half is sitting in the freezer for another day (hope it freezes well). As a memoir, it didn't quite work for me. I was disappointed that the duke didn’t strongly argue his side. Nice enough guy with mother abandonment
