Stunning freshman effort.. I found a sexuality here that I can so strangely identify with, and that I haven't yet found in another book. Yet, these are so minimized that it is obvious that for Andy Clark no price is too high for what he sees as the inevitable evolutionary advance of the human species. While the book is academic it is very well written, organized, and very assessable to the general reader.The one drawback to this monograph, and this is not a criticism given that this was not the intent of the book, I did not come away with a very clear picture of the political history of the empire. Lastly, a lengthy "Note about the Sources" and a thorough index are included.Prior to World War I the "See America First" campaign was launched to encourage Americans to spend vacations here rather than traveling to Europe.
